Inspired by the Toltecan feathered-serpent deity, Tiki Tolteca’s new Quetzalcoatl Mug is a true beacon of our Toltecan inspiration.
The intention of this new design was to draw guests back to our Toltecan story, by giving prominence to Quetzalcatl, the feathered-serpent god of both Toltecan and Aztec cultures. Before emerging as the face of our newest mugs, Quetzakcatl was the muse of the ancient Temple of the Feathered Serpent, which can be found in the pyramids of Teotihuacan in The Avenue of the Dead.
Legend has it that the priests of their religion would drink pulque (corn-based alcohol) and talk to the gods while sitting atop the pyramids. In turn, our new mug features imagery of both the Quetzalcatl and the Toltecan priest, connected, once again, by the “spirits of the gods”.
